Help system

There is also a help menu in both main windows.

The help buttons and some of the help-submenus requires access to the wxWin help system. The help system acts a little different dependant on the system platform:

• Unix. A copy of the wxhelp utility program as well as the file jazz.xlp has to be present in a directory listed by the shell's binary search path (e.g. /usr/local/bin). If the wxhelp program cannot be found there will be a timeout message after a while (repeated two times).

  Please observe that the jazz.xlp file does not support graphics. In order to view the help-file images on Unix (can be useful) please use the html- or postscript-versions of the documentation. The html files can be viewed using a standard web browser (like 'netscape'). The postscript file can be viewed using 'ghostview' or it can be produced on paper using a postcript-capable printer.

• Windows. The native help system is used, which requires that the help file is present in 'Windows help' format (jazz.hlp). This file is installed automatically by the jazz install-utility.
